Find our Wool Products
Several area stores carry our woolen goods. We also sell directly at regional fiber festivals. We have decided not to have an online store on this website. It is a lot to maintain and I would rather be outside with the sheep or working with their wool! However, you are welcome to purchase products directly from the farm and we have visitors often doing this by appointment. Use the contact us page form to reach out and get your wool fix.
Wool Classing Services
Do you want to improve the quality of your wool clip, perhaps market your wool to the handspinning community? Jami is a certified wool classer and can assist in helping flocks maximize profits. This is done by sorting wool into categories, providing helpful tips to get producers wool into desired markets. This service is performed during shearing. Use the contact form to find out more.
ABOUT US
As first generation shepherds, we continually strive to educate ourselves on the most sustainable and humane way to raise our sheep.
Larry and Jami began raising sheep in 2002 on their farm outside of Ellensburg, Washington in Kittitas County. Although it is a beautiful area surrounded by hills and mountains, it is a fairly harsh environment for livestock with low precipitation and ample wind. It does boast the best sunrises and sunsets with a big sky.
The sheep breeds raised are Texel and Coopworth. They do well here and are tough enough and great mothering sheep. These are moderate sized sheep that are easy to handle.
The horses and sheep flock of 25-50 ewes are sustained on hay grown on the farm. A bit of alfalfa is purchased from a local farm for lambing time as a nutritional boost.
Larry does the hay growing, harvesting and storing. And a lot of the feeding too.
Jami spends much of her time working with the wool and planning flock genetics. She does much of the lambing duties but they tag team when necessary. She is also a certified wool classer and helps flocks get the best prices for their wool by separating their clips into quality categories. Jami attends multiple fiber festivals with her woolen wares. She keeps busy either prepping fleeces for sale or creating her own designs from wool and also feeds a lot of cookies to the sheep.
Part of the farm family are the border collies, Ben, Beau, and Nell, aka the sheep movers, and Meg, the livestock guardian goddess.
